A Star in Iran’s Industry

One of the most important aims pursued in post-revolution Iran is approaching self-developing industries in some important   fields. Among them, the aerospace technologies has the most vital role form different aspects including  defense,   security, ICT, and technology promoting. In this regard, the Aerospace Industries organization (AIO) has been established Since 1983 in Iran to develop the related technologies. Since then, AIO has gathered a large body of technological know-how and expertise.

In fact, AIO can be classified as a research & development Institute. Its consistent growth is due to its knowledge production and unlimited efforts concerning the innovative research and developing high technologies. The organization also enjoys well-deserve fame in the international industrial sphere.

Today, AIO is active in design and construction of satellite-carrying rockets as well as providing various calculation, measurement and laboratory services for most R&D institutes in Iran. Also,   this organization makes complex spare parts for a variety of machines in different industrial fields.

The  Aerospace  industries  organization  relies  on  its  capabilities  and  experiences  in  different  industrial  fields  to  achieve  the  most  efficient  methods  of  quality  assurance  as  a  guarantee  of  the  perfect  production  of  goods.  This  organization  is  made  up  of  several  industrial  complexes, thus  being  one  of  the  biggest  industrial  units  in  Iran.

In addition,  the  aerospace  industries  can  be  categorized  as  industries  utilizing  high – tech  with  a  high  added  value  in  comparison  to  other  industries  sectors. It  is  another  reason  why  this  technology  has an important  role  for  most  developing  countries. On the other  hand  this  technology  can  promote  other  technologies  in  various  civil  and  non-civil  industries.  Also  this  technology  has  direct  and  indirect  effects  on  the  economic  state  of  countries including creating  employment  opportunities  and  preventing  brain  draining.

The most important missions of this organization (AIO) are as follow:

1.   Executing all the space activities mission of the Islamic republic of Iran.

2.   Research, design, construction and support of space projects.

3.   Establishing earth station for the satellite control, constructing the space craft and some satellite parts as well as technology transferring to other countries.

4.   Establishing Iran’s space agency office to ensure an active presence in international space organizations.

Investing in this organization (AIO) is economically viable to its very high rate of investment return and these investments can facilitate further research and expansion of activities and increasing the export of goods and services; which will be great steps towards achieving economic development in the country.
