Khouzestan Steel Co. (KSC) comprises three giant plants as follows:

1. Iron and Steel Making Plant

Products: Blooms and slabs

• Dimensions of slabs
  Thickness: 200 and 245 m, Length: 4-10 meters, Width: 600-1250 mm

• Dimensions of blooms
  260x260 mm, 200x200 mm, 150x150 mm
  Based on the standards of GOST, BS, ASTM, EN,
  JIS, AISI/SAE, DIN

Products: Bar mills, rebars, I-beams, seamless and welded pipes

• Bar mill: 12-32 mm in diameter

• Rebar: 5.5-12 mm in diameter
  Production standards: A2, A3, ASTM, CK, JIS, GOST, …

• I-beam: Produced in three different sizes of 12, 14 and 18

• Seamless and welded pipes: These pipes are produced at diameters of ½ -5 inches based on the standards of API5L, BG, ASTM, DIN 2440, DIN 2441

Products: Various types of heavy industrial plates with the thickness of 8-40 mm

• Establishment of Zamzam Project based on four Midrex modules (Direct Reduction II)

• Increasing the production of sponge iron on 1,2 and 3 Midrex modules

• Automation of power supply network

• Increasing the transformers of electric arc furnaces

• Erecting cooling panels with water circulation systems over electric arc furnaces

• Performing the Emission from Bottom Project in electric arc furnaces

• Using ladle furnaces to improve the quality of steel and reduce the process timing

• Constant increasing of production rate

• Installing moisture absorption systems in direct reduction units

• Installing a billet casting machine

• Making arrangements for the installation of two new furnaces (No. 7 & 8)

• Completing a project for upgrading the capacity of Midrex reduction units which resulted in 450,000 tons of increase in sponge iron production. This was achieved solely through the endeavors of Iranian experts and technicians.

• Zamzam Project (Direct Reduction Based on Midrex System)
  Object: Working at 700,000 tons of capacity to provide sponge iron for producing the final products.

  Object: Increasing the production capacity of crude steel

• Installation of Ladle Furnace No. 2
  Object: Promoting the quality of steel and reducing the process period

• Vacuum Oxygen Degassing (V.O.D) Project

  Object: Increase of casting operations by 600,000 tons in each line
