Topics such as profitability, privatization, partnership, research and development, boosting exports, raising the added value, expanding production capacity, sustainable development, environmental measures and complying with international standards are some of the main themes that a company like NPC would like to discuss in the new millennium

When the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) of Iran took the initiative to break the ice by holding the first Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF) in April 1999, the enthusiasm of the international community to form partnerships with Iran went beyond what was expected. The event also brought further credit to NPC for properly organizing an international summit of high caliber.
IPF’99 focused on some major potentials and capabilities of the Iranian petrochemical industry to attract foreign investment, pave the way for the transfer of advanced technology and demonstrate Iran’s readiness to be an active player in the world team.
Aware of the fact that the region was in true need of a regularly-held international forum for exchanging information and exploring avenues for cooperation between neighboring countries, NPC decided to draw on the successful experience of IPF’99 to stage IPF 2000. Held under the title of “Petrochemical Industry in the New Millennium”, IPF 2000 looked at the petrochemical industry from a global point of view. Expert discussions were held on topics such as environmental concerns, technological options, management and marketing.
In both conferences, NPC promoted the competitive advantages of the Iranian petrochemical industry to host and work with potential partners in a location now referred to as the “Petzone”. Situated close to the vital international waterway of the Persian Gulf, the Special Economic Petrochemical Zone continues to offer attractive opportunities for those who wish to base their manufacturing activities in Iran, particularly in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
With the flying colors of the two previous forums, it was quite expected that NPC would stress on its intention to hold Iran Petrochemical Forum on a regular basis to keep its high standards as one of the fastest-growing industries in Iran.
Topics such as profitability, privatization, partnership, research and development, boosting exports, raising the added value, expanding production capacity, sustainable development, environmental measures and complying with international standards are some of the main themes that a company like NPC would like to discuss in the new millennium.
To be held under the title of “New Vision”, the third international Iran Petrochemical Forum will focus on the subjects of petrochemical industry outlook (Iran-world), regional cooperation, marketing, investment potentials, research and technology, management, feedstock availability and future of natural gas in petrochemical industry.
Confident of its abundant supply of feedstock, expert and inexpensive work force, and increasing demands in domestic and neighboring markets, the Iranian petrochemical industry is in a dynamic preparation for May 2001, when it is expected to shake the hands of a new set of partners.
