Petrochemicals

First “Iran Plast 2002”

Changiz Hazin, the director of the first Iran-Plast 2002 international exhibition, made the following comments about the exhibition:

The exhibition’s 7,000 square meter area was filled by producers from the four main sections of polymer – raw materials, machinery and equipment, polymeric downstream products and related technical and mechanical services. Sixty-four foreign companies, from 17 countries, as well as 190 Iranian companies registered to partake in the exhibition. We decided to hold this exhibition after considering the profound affect petrochemical products generally, and polymeric products specifically have had on the human way of life. And with major polymer production projects already underway in Iran, it will soon become one of the world’s most important poles in polymer production. Iran has the potential for establishing a downstream industry and there is a potential demand for its products in world markets.

The National Petrochemical Industry Company (NPC) intends to hold this exhibition on a regular annual basis.
