Aerospace Industry

HESA in Brief

Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Company (HESA), which is located 28 km northwest of Isfahan, is one of the biggest aircraft manufacturing industries in the region. Out of important elements making up a big aircraft manufacturing company, HESA enjoys millions of square meters of lands that can be expanded on all four sides, more than 250,000 sq. m. of hangars, workshops equipped with the most modern equipment, tools, instruments and machinery for manufacturing aircraft, a skilled workforce of thousands, who hold degrees ranging from doctorates to masters, bachelors and associates and have been trained according to the latest international standards of civil aviation, as well as the most up-to-date set of instructions and standards for manufacturing parts, systems and the airplane itself. All these elements are located in one of the best industrial regions of the world in terms of geographical situation and have been totally devoted to manufacture of aircraft parts and systems and various kinds of planes.

"HESA is a customer-oriented organization and attaches great significance to satisfaction of its customers."

If we take the word "aircraft" to encompass all kinds of flying objects including airplanes with fixed wing and rotary wing, hovercrafts, ultra-light planes as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, then HESA will consist of six large aircraft manufacturing factories as follows:

1. Jet propeller, 54-seat passenger plane factory,

2. Training propeller airplane HT80 and training Simorgh jet plane factory,

3. Combat 2091 helicopter and Shahed 278 search and rescue helicopter factory,

4. Modern unmanned aerial vehicles and remote controlled flying boats such as Ababil I, II, and III as well as Hadaf airplane factory,

5. Hovercraft HS600 and HS400 factory,

6. Ultra-light planes manufacturing company.

By taking advantage of the most modern design center for all kinds of airplanes and a large research and development center, HESA is equipped with all kinds of mechanics, electronics and measuring laboratories.

"Most domestic graduates in the fields of mechanical engineering, industries and aerospace have been employed by HESA."

Also, taking advantage of a Class B special airport, which supports Shahid Beheshti Airport of Isfahan, has turned HESA into a gateway for international trade. HESA exports its products all over the world through collaboration with most executive and forwarding service companies both inside Iran and abroad.

Having strong scientific and research ties with most domestic universities and all aerospace universities of the country and some foreign aerospace universities as well as scientific and research bonds with design and research centers of the world has made HESA a most modern aircraft manufacturing industrial center whose doors are always open to students, professors, and pioneers of aerospace science. The relationship between university and industry is very strong in HESA.

Most domestic graduates in the fields of mechanical engineering, industries and aerospace have been employed by HESA. HESA enjoys a science-oriented structure and its young scientific staff will continue to train specialist manpower needed for domestic aircraft manufacturing industry for years to come.

HESA is a customer-oriented organization and attaches great significance to satisfaction of its customers. Therefore, HESA has a marketing, sales and after-sales services organization and considers itself responsible for customers and their interests from the moment they think of purchasing its products, to actual purchase of products and, afterwards, for as many years as those products are being used by customers.

HESA is equipped with a modern after-sales services system known as H.A.S.T., which stands for HESA Automated Supply Transaction. This service is available to customers 24 / 7 –all day everyday.

Extensive presence in African countries like Sudan, Tanzania, Benin, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burkina Faso, European countries including Greece, Ukraine, Poland, Asian countries such as UAE, Malaysia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, South Korea, Myanmar, and South American countries including Cuba and Peru has introduced aircraft manufacturing capacities of our country to the world. Everyday marketing and commercial interactions with these countries will play a significant role in promoting non-oil exports of the country.

With a global way of thinking, establishment of a global marketing network and engaging in e-commerce, HESA has active sales agents in Malaysia, Africa, South Korea, Myanmar, UAE and even America. HESA is in the process of joining a consortium comprising of big aircraft manufacturing companies like Airbus, Pilatus, HAL of India and Turkey and believes itself to be highly successful in interactions related to manufacturing airplane parts.

Now that the first Iranian plane, Iran-140, which has been manufactured by HESA, is ready to join domestic passenger and commercial air fleet and establishment of safe, profitable and regular flights, HESA is playing its basic role in providing 4,000 flight seats to lessen serious shortage of flight seats in the country. In this way, 80 planes will be manufactured within 10 years.

The important point is that HESA plays its significant role for the armed forces by providing necessary aerial systems to them. These include designing Maritime Patrol 140 cargo and tactical planes with ramp doors for carrying tactical wheeled military cargoes, design and manufacture of unmanned boats, long-range jet-propelled unmanned aerial vehicles with a flight range of over 450 km, a velocity of more than 700 km per hour and a flight ceiling of 25,000 feet, design and manufacture of training jet-propelled and propeller planes, combat helicopters as well as their constant optimization and upgrading.

HESA has industrial and commercial ties with most industries affiliated to the Ministry of Defense and carries out joint marketing efforts with some of them. By referring to HESA, esteemed customers will have access to a wide range of ultra-light, two-passenger, four-passenger, 14-passenger and 52-passenger planes.
