Peykareh Group active in the field of material handling and industrial packaging materials will undertake a drastic change within the packaging industry of Iran by replacing steel straps with Plastic.

Peykareh has initiated the production of Plastic pallets for bulk packaging, ease of storage and transport plus the production of various types of straps and related machinery and its distribution to Iran’s Industrial sector with export to other regional countries.

By keeping an eye on the huge industrial revolution in Iran’s Petrochemical sector upon entry into the 3rd millennium, Peykareh Industrial Group decided to undertake new initiatives while taking account of its existing capabilities. The replacement of the traditionally used steel straps used for packaging in the medium and heavy industries with new highly resistant plastic straps is the next goal.

The first phase of the PET production project of the Shahid Tondgoyan Petrochemical Complex –one of the many projects under construction by NPC- is being commissioned and will commence operation in 2003.

As the first downstream industry of this enormous undertaking, Peykareh will begin the production of 5000 tons of strap utilizing local PET material and will mark a milestone in the industrial packaging industry and at the same time the following changes are expected:

• The packaging of cotton bales and various fibers will be affected

• Wood and log packaging and also steel packaging will be more feasible

• Thousands of medium and medium to heavy industries will enjoy the outcome

By the end of the 1st phase of the project, 60% of medium sized, medium heavy and heavy industries of Iran and regional areas will adapt this technique in their packaging and after commissioning of the 2nd phase by 2005, Peykareh shall be able to supply the total market demand and replace 10,000 tons of Tondgoyan’s products with PET straps.
