We called last year’s petrochemical
gathering a forum or an opportunity for dialogue, a petrochemical dialogue. If
the forum managed to help establish dialogue, then it succeeded in what it was
assigned to do. If dialogue was at all established a natural byproduct of that
would be chemistry or rather a chemistry of friendly business.
The fourth petrochemical forum has come
and gone. It’s already history. But we have come to the conclusion that more
important than the contracts, their numbers or even their magnitude, was how
much the forum succeeded in bringing the experts in the fields together to
engage in honest and cordial exchange of ideas. And thus it is all about
chemistry or what this edition of Iran International stands for:
friendly chemistry.
If the forum managed to bring that
about, the summit 2002 was a success; and did not merely go down in history
unnoticed. And the history of service to the Iranian petrochemical industry,
on which so much money and attention has been invested, is yet to come.
