Oil & Gas

R. Javadi, Managing Director of OIEC

Mega Projects & Special Management

Managing director of Oil Industries’ Engineering and Construction (OIEC) has explained his company’s activities in the following interview with Iran International:

Please explain about the history of Oil Industries’ Engineering and Construction (OIEC) from its outset.

Oil Industries’ Engineering and Construction (OIEC) was founded in 1987. It was registered as a private corporation; however great majority of its shares are owned by National Iranians Oil Company and Oil Pension Fund Investment Company. It can easily be claimed that OIEC has the challenges of a private corporation as well as having to deal with the public sector.

Before OIEC was established similar services had to be procured from foreign sources.  Throughout the past 23 years we have been able to fill this gap and have performed 200 million man – hours of work by utilizing state of the art technologies specially in management of mega projects.

This background has positioned us to be the leading EPC contractor in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry.

Please explain about the Company’s services.

OIEC is an integrated service provider for its clients in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. We offer a wide range of services such as engineering, procurement and construction for various types and sizes of projects, in addition to rendering turn-key contracts as GC or MC. In order to increase the confidence of our clients in our ability to cover all aspects of a project, OIEC has organized various subsidiaries, each a leading expert in their own field.

How about your fields of expertise?

Our fields of expertise are:

  • Design and construction of gas gathering and NGL recovery plants

  • Design and construction of various compressor stations

  • Procurement services for oil, gas and petrochemical projects

What is your current project load?

At the moment we are working on several projects including Sirri Island gas gathering & NGL recovery, South Pars gas field development phases 17 & 18, South Pars gas field development phases 20 and 21 and Hormoz heavy oil refinery. The total value of these projects exceeds 12 billion dollars.

What are the Company’s future plans?

Simply to expand our horizons. We have been eying various markets in our neighborhood in particular, Iraq and former Soviet republics to the north. We welcome the opportunity to cooperate with local and International firms active in these markets. It would be a win-win situation in my opinion. Our close cultural ties coupled with geographical proximity with these countries together with our experience and capabilities, makes us an ideal candidate. We are also open to cooperation and partnership in other parts of the world.
