Hampa Energy Engineering
and Design Company

Managing director of Hampa Energy Engineering and Design Company has explained his company’s activities in the following interview with Iran International:

Please explain about the history and situation of Hampa Company from its outset.

We are cooperating with companies in Qatar and Malaysia. Hampa Engineering Company has signed a contract to build Malaysia’s Putrana refinery and we are taking follow-up measures to open credit line.


Hampa Energy Engineering and Design Company started its activities in winter 2008. About 51 percent of its stocks belong to Hampa Engineering Company and the rest belongs to about 30 real stockholders who enjoy valuable experiences in project management and are specialized in different engineering fields. The company is currently in charge of engineering operations and services for Golestan, Lordegan, and Zanjan petrochemical projects and engineering operations have, thus far, progressed beyond 40 percent. The company obtained ISO 9001 certificate less than one year after its inauguration. Believing in excellence in engineering, manpower training, quality and information technology as the bedrock of the company’s operations are primary principles on the basis of which the company has been established and continued.

Please explain about the company’s services as well as its domestic and overseas partners.

Hampa Engineering Company, as the main partner of our company, is also cooperating with us in domestic projects and is in charge of EPC projects in Golestan, Lordegan, and Zanjan as the main contractor. Hampa Energy has also signed memorandums of understanding with other companies and Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and has taken part in tender bids along with them. As for overseas partners, we are cooperating with companies in Qatar and Malaysia. Hampa Engineering Company has signed a contract to build Malaysia’s Putrana refinery and we are taking follow-up measures to open credit line. 

What is the value of contracts you have signed in recent years?

The value of contracts signed by Hampa Engineering Company where Hampa Energy is in charge of engineering and services has totaled about one billion euros. 

In which industrial and perhaps export projects you have been more active?

Major projects currently underway by this company include petrochemical projects in Golestan, Lordegan, and Zanjan.

Please explain about use of modern technology and skilled manpower in Hampa Energy Company.

The company is currently employing over 150 skilled engineering personnel more than half of whom enjoy extensive experiences in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. Training is continuous in the company and we have spent about 12,500 person-hours on training in 2008. Films and records related to training sessions are available.

As for information technology, we have developed engineering software of the company which covers all engineering, planning, logistics, and installation operations. The software is also web-based and our engineering operations are currently paperless. Our research and development department has formulated necessary technical know-how for ammonia tanks which are among cryogenic tanks. Technical know-how for post-heater lines has been formulated in terms of tension analysis and internal insulation and technical know-how for basic engineering aimed at removing water from gas through glycol method is being formulated. 

What are the company’s future plans?

We plan to obtain ISO 14001, ISO 8001, and ISO 29001 certificates. Other future plans of the company include development of needed software, establishment of task assignment system, continuation of research projects along with current projects and realization of the company’s qualitative goals. More extensive domestic marketing and attention to implementation of overseas projects are among developmental goals of the company.
