The Biggest Oil Event in the Region
Deputy managing director of China's CNLC noted that in view of the high
enthusiasm on the part of Chinese companies to take part in Tehran
International Exhibition of Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals, the exhibit could
be considered the biggest oil industry event in the whole Middle East.
He added that during the past two years, Chinese companies active in
upstream and downstream oil projects have been more than willing to be
present at Tehran oil show.
The Chinese official also stated that sanctions enforced against Iran by the
United States and Europe have not prevented CNLC from cooperating with the
Iranian companies and Chinese entities still pursue establishment of
friendly relations with the Iranian oil industry.
Deputy managing director of China's CNLC further noted that Iran's rich oil
and gas reserves in addition to existing potentials for development of the
country's oil and gas industry will promote its position and increase its
role in international energy markets.
"Iran is a safe country for investment and there are many opportunities for
the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iranian and Chinese oil
companies," he said.
The Chinese official stated that solutions proposed by Iran as chairman of
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) can have positive
consequences for international crude oil markets.
"Iranian oil specialists can exchange technical know-how with foreign
companies in order to achieve self-sufficiency in the near future and
compete with foreign rivals," he said.
